Assault — An officer went Wednesday to a house in the 300 block of S. FM 1417 in reference to a disturbance between a brother and a sister, both of whom were adults. The man had assaulted the woman by headbutting her. The officer arrested the man for assault causes bodily injury family member.

Harassment — Wednesday, a woman went to the Sherman Police Department and reported that her ex-boyfriend had been harassing her by sending her threatening text messages. Police made a report for harassment.


Theft — An officer went Wednesday to the 1100 block of S. Idlewild Drive regarding a theft. A victim’s bicycle had been stolen from his yard during the night. The officer made a report for theft.


Assault — Officers responded to a disturbance Wednesday at a business in the 3300 block of N. U.S. Highway 75. A woman reported that her boyfriend had been assaulted by another woman. The man said the woman had punched him in the face, and he had a visible injury. One of the officers made a report for assault causes bodily injury.


Fraud — A woman went Wednesday to the Sherman Police Department and reported that her stolen debit card was used at a business in the 2700 block of N. U.S. Highway 75. Police made a report for fraudulent use/possession of identifying information.


Driving while license invalid — An officer conducted a traffic stop Wednesday in the 2500 block of N. Travis Street. The driver’s license was suspended, and she had a previous conviction for driving while license invalid. The officer arrested the driver for driving while license invalid with previous conviction.


Public intoxication — An officer responded to a suspicious person call Wednesday in the area of Houston Street and Willow Street. The caller said that a man approached a woman and asked her if she wanted to buy a knife. When the officer arrived, he found a man loitering in the area whose breath smelled like alcohol and was carrying two cans of beer with him. The man’s speech was slurred and he could not tell the officer where he had been or where he was going. The officer felt the man was a danger to himself and others and arrested the man for public intoxication with previous convictions.
