A woman was killed Wednesday morning after she jumped off the South Loy Lake Road overpass at U.S. Highway 75 in Sherman, police said.

Misty Rabalais, 36, of Santa Fe, Texas, was riding with her husband in his car when she exited the car, ran for the overpass and jumped from it, Brooks said. When she landed on the pavement, a truck hit her. Police received a call regarding the incident at 8:45 a.m.

Mrs. Rabalais was pronounced dead at the scene by the Justice of the Peace, said Brooks. He said the incident is being investigated as a suicide.

As a result of the incident, U.S. Highway 75 was closed for one and a half hours, said Sherman Police Department Lt. Ken Brooks.
