Kid’s Pantry provides food to Denison kids, during extended school holidays, whose families meet the income eligibility guidelines for free/reduced school lunches. Kid’s Pantry is a nonprofit, solely operated by volunteers. All contributions are tax deductible and monetary donations are used to purchase food.

Kid’s Pantry provides food to Denison kids, during extended school holidays, whose families meet the income eligibility guidelines for free/reduced school lunches. Kid’s Pantry is a nonprofit, solely operated by volunteers. All contributions are tax deductible and monetary donations are used to purchase food.


Kid’s Pantry currently has 354 kids receiving food through its weekly backpack program. This program provides meals to kids in need, who have been referred by school principals, counselors, nurses and teachers in the Denison Independent School District.


Food was provided to 86 families with 262 kids during the Thanksgiving holiday and the program has request from 94 families with a total of 280 kids for help with food over the Christmas holidays.


Needed food donations include: cereal, peanut butter, jelly, macaroni and cheese, canned meats, spaghetti, canned pastas, soups, vegetables, juice, etc.


Individual food items needed for the backpack program include: Vienna sausage, Ramen noodles, applesauce, fruit cups, juice, cereal, oatmeal, pop tarts, cereal bars, peanut butter and cheese crackers, fruit snacks, cookies, soups, canned pastas, Easy Mac, popcorn and pudding snack paks.

Volunteers are always welcome. Monetary donations should be mailed to Kid’s Pantry at P.O. Box 1837, Denison, Texas 75021-1837. Food donations may be dropped off at Trinity UMC or James’ Garage, Inc., 3112 Pottsboro Road, Denison.
