The Grayson Crisis Center is designated an emergency shelter by the Health and Human Services Commission — one of only 73 in the entire state of Texas. Located in Sherman, it is the only shelter for victims of family violence or sexual assault in an area bounded by Durant, Okla., to the north, Wichita Falls and Denton, to the west, Piano and McKinney, to the south, and Greenville and Paris to the east.

The Crisis Center is located at 4200 N. Travis Street in Sherman.


Crisis Center’s wish list includes:


• children’s games, all ages;


• children’s toys/books, all ages (nothing violent please);


• teen gifts including gift cards, electronics;


• family DVDs;


• family games;


• sporting goods including bats/balls/Frisbees/pogo sticks/hula hoops;


• bicycles;


• scooters;


• women’s slippers/house socks;


• compact mirrors;


• women’s and children’s body lotions/sprays;


• manicure sets;


• wallets; and


• gift cards to local retail stores and entertainment venues.
