The staff at Grand Central Station said their Saturday lunches have been very successful but they do cost more because the staff uses individually wrapped items for the meal. For those lunches, the GCS needs individual packages of cookies, large boxes of 30 to 50 packages of chips, energy bars, fruit cups, puddings and other items that don’t need to be refrigerated. The staff could also use small fruits like oranges, bananas, and grapes. The staff uses plastic sandwich bags and paper bags for the Saturday lunches and could use donations of those items as well.

The GCS also has on going needs for grocery items including:

canned chicken;

canned tuna;

canned baked beans or black beans;

canned Ro Tel,

cream of chicken or mushroom soup;

Creole Seasoning;

50 bag boxes of chips;

sliced jalapeno peppers;

#10 cans of nacho cheese.

In addition, the staff lists the following on-going, non-food needs:

regular coffee;

gallon sized tea bags;

plastic forks, knives and spoons;

Styrofoam soup bowls;

10 oz and 8 oz Styrofoam hot cups;

1/4 fold dinner napkins;

Dixie Breakfast napkins;

Pam Cooking spray;

trash can liners, 13 gallon and 33 gallon;

laundry soap;

sandwich bags and on-gallon Zip Lock bags;

brown paper bags;

Additionally, the staff needs the following items to give out in toiletry bags for patrons:

razors;

deodorant;

hotel sized bottles of shampoo, lotion and body wash.

All donations may be dropped off at Grand Central Station, 110 Throckmorton Monday through Friday.
