The Texoma Area Paratransit System, which provides public transportation services between seven North Texas counties, will temporarily close their main offices and call center at 5 p.m. Thursday to allow offices and equipment to be relocated to a temporary headquarters. Service for Get-a-Ride calls will resume at 4:30 a.m. Monday.

The closure will allow the transportation service to relocate their offices, call center and hub from 6104 Texoma Parkway in Sherman to 3400 Texoma Parkway. The maintenance garage at the current location will remain in operation.

The move comes as TAPS plans to demolish the current offices to make room for the multimillion dollar North Texas Regional Transportation Center hub. The construction project is expected to take 18 months.

TAPS plans to use the larger headquarters for further expansion, hoping to hire an additional 50 to 100 employees over the next 24 months, said TAPS Public Information Manager Dan Acree.

Those needing Get-A-Ride services for Friday, Saturday or Monday are asked to contact the call center in advance of the 5 p.m. closing on Thursday, Call Center Operations Director Matt Hunt said.
