SOUTHMAYD — On Tuesday, the Southmayd City Council will hold a regular meeting to discuss and consider a letter of resignation for City Council Member Barbara Child. Child is giving up her seat on the council as she expects to be moving out of Southmayd. The Council will discuss and decide on what to do with the vacant Council position.

SOUTHMAYD — On Tuesday, the Southmayd City Council will hold a regular meeting to discuss and consider a letter of resignation for City Council Member Barbara Child. Child is giving up her seat on the council as she expects to be moving out of Southmayd. The Council will discuss and decide on what to do with the vacant Council position.


The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Southmayd City Hall located at 4525 Elementary St.


Other items that will be discussed, considered, and acted on include:


• a second structure located at 5010 Belknap to be classified as an accessory building (not a residence);


• signatures for city bank accounts and other investments;


• connecting both water systems;


• connecting with other water systems (Two-Way, Dochester and/or Sherman);


• the Annual Racial Profiling Statistics Report for the Police Department;


• an interlocal agreement with the Texas Revenue Recovery Association;


• an apartment located at 21136 Highway 56;


• property at 205 Beavers;


• permit fee collections;


• approval of new "Southmayd Terminology";


• employee paid time off and comp time policies; and


• securing a covered smoking area;


The Council will meet in a closed executive session to discuss personnel matters relating to Public Works Director Traci Walker.
