BELLS — One man was killed in Grayson County Monday morning when a car lost control on an icy bridge and rolled over.

Department of Public Safety Troopers responded at 5:10 a.m. to U.S. Highway 82, just east of Smith Oak Road near Bells. A 23-year-old Sherman resident had been driving a 1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager eastbound on the road. There were a total of seven people in the car.

The driver traveled over an icy bridge at an unsafe speed, the Texas Highway Patrol said. This caused the car to lose control and veer off the side of the road. The car then rolled and ejected a passenger, 28-year-old Jorge Juarez.

Mr. Juarez was pronounced dead at the scene. He had not been wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, said Trooper Mark Tackett.
