LUELLA — The Grayson County Fire Marshal is investigating a Monday-morning structure fire near Luella that destroyed a house and displaced at least two people.

Howe Fire received a call reporting the fire at 4:55 a.m. at a house in the 2000 block of Luella Road, said Assistant Grayson County Fire Marshal David Gallagher. In addition to the Howe Fire Department, the Tom Bean, Van Alstyne, Sherman and Whitewright Fire departments all responded to provide mutual aid. It took about one-and-a-half hours to completely put the fire out, which spanned the entire two-story, 4,000-square-foot house, Gallagher said. The house is at a total loss.

At least two people were inside the house, and both escaped "without a scratch," Gallagher said.

Investigators believe the fire originated in the garage. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
