The Greater Texoma Utility Authority will vote, on Monday, to begin work on two separate bonds, which will, if approved, be used to fund upgrades to the water systems on the Northwestern portion of Grayson County and in Van Alstyne. The meeting will be held at the GTUA offices, located at 5100 Airport Dr.

The Greater Texoma Utility Authority will vote, on Monday, to begin work on two separate bonds, which will, if approved, be used to fund upgrades to the water systems on the Northwestern portion of Grayson County and in Van Alstyne. The meeting will be held at the GTUA offices, located at 5100 Airport Dr.


The first bond package, which will total $1.355 million, will be used to fund improvements as a part of the Northwest Grayson County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 Project, including the drilling of an additional water well, construction of a ground storage tank, and a new ground water pump station. The board will also consider authorizing the solicitation of bids for the project.


The second bond, which will be applied for through the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund, will be used for general upgrades and improvements to the Van Alstyne water system. The Board will consider qualifications for engineering, bond counsel, and financial advisory services for the project. The Board will also consider authorizing financial participation in the project from the Texas Water Development Board.


Other items that will be discussed, considered, and acted upon include:Consider a resolution to amend an application for financial assistance from the State Infrastructure Bank and authorize the General Manager to act on behalf of the GTUA in the application;Consider awarding the contract for the city of Ector 2013 Water Tank Rehabilitation project;Consider a change order to a contract with Jerry Paul Higgins, Ltd. in regards to the city of Sherman Waste water Treatment Plant East Bar Screen Replacement project.Consider the Professional Services Agreement for General Manager Consulting Services.
