The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a tax fraud investigation that could affect people in Grayson, Fannin and Cooke counties.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Denison resident Jeron Glen Powell, 35, on Wednesday on one charge of theft $1,500 to $20,000 and four charges of possession of a controlled substance. Powell is at the center of the investigation, said Lt. Ricky Wheeler in a written release.

"If Powell has your tax information or has completed your taxes, please contact your local law enforcement agency," Wheeler said. "Once you make the report, ask your law enforcement agency to contact Grayson County Sheriff’s Office with the details."

Powell remains in the Grayson County Jail at this time.
