Grayson County commissioners wasted very little time Tuesday renewing the County’s contract with Douglas Distributing for the County’s fuel supply. Purchasing Agent Jeff Schneider said the contract continues the same prices as last year’s contract.

He said the contract allows the price the County pays for fuel to fluctuate with the price of gas on the open market. Sometimes that is a good thing for the County, and sometimes it is not.

In addition, commissioners approved, after some good-natured teasing, Commissioners Phyllis James’ request to be allowed to use a Buy Board deal to purchase a new chip spreader for Precinct 3. James said the one her precinct has currently is so old that they say prayers over it every time they use it.

Commissioners also approved road bores on Shawnees Trail in Precinct 3 and another one on Naylor Lane at Plainview Road in Precinct 4.
