"GC developed Parents’ 101 in response to studies that suggest successful college students have family members who support their educational plans," said Nancy Luthe, student services assistant and academic advisor at the college. "They’ll learn about GC’s degrees and programs, and make connections with faculty, staff, counselors, advisors and other parents."

Parents’ 101 is designed to support parental involvement and student success by equipping parents with information on admissions, financial aid, scholarships, testing requirements, degree programs, and campus resources available to assist students in being successful at Grayson College. It also features a financial aid workshop where parents can complete the online Free Federal Application for Federal Student Aid.

Representatives from GC’s Office of Financial Aid will be available to answer questions and to assist them with the FAFSA. For better assistance, parents should bring their federal income tax records, W2 forms, bank statements and social security numbers to the session.

Parents’ 101 begins at 7 p.m. in GC’s Center for Workplace Learning Auditorium on the college’s Main Campus in Denison. To register, visit the Grayson College website at www.grayson.edu. Click on Future Students and then click on Parents’ 101.
