GORDONVILLE — A structure fire that occurred Sunday in the Sherwood Shores community of Gordonville destroyed an uninhabited house.

The fire began at about 6:45 p.m. at a house in the 20 block of Friar Tuck Drive, said Grayson County Fire Marshal Kevin Walton. Where and how it started is still under investigation.

It took several hours to completely put the fire out, Walton said. The house is still standing, but was completely gutted by the fire.

The structure served as a lake house for a couple who were not there at the time of the incident. There were no injuries.

So far arson has been ruled out as a cause, Walton said. The building did have electricity, and that is being investigated as a potential cause.
