BONHAM — A resolution urging action on the appointment of a federal judicial nominee and an order that would have prohibited fireworks were among the agenda items discussed at the Fannin County Commissioners Court meeting Monday morning.

The Court approved the reappointment of the Fannin Rural Rail District Board members. The Board members are Price Bradshaw, Glenn Taylor, Mayfield McCraw and Richard Davey, said County Judge Assistant Rita Watts.

The Court approved the resolution regarding a federal judicial nominee for the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas. The Federal Judge position has been vacant since 2006, and governments in the area have approved resolutions encouraging the position to be filled soon. The Grayson County Commissioners Court approved the same resolution on Nov. 20.

The Court refused to take action on an order prohibiting or restricting fireworks in unincorporated areas of Fannin County. Watts said the Court didn’t implement the ban on fireworks because Fannin County has recently received a "good amount" of rainfall.

An action regarding open county office space in the county south annex building was approved. This means that some of the offices in the courthouse will be moved to the county south annex building.

Finally, the Court approved payment of bills.

The commissioners meet at 9 a.m. every Monday in the Fannin County Courthouse, located at 101 E. Sam Rayburn Drive in Bonham.
