A Denison police officer sustained a sprained knee Thursday while chasing a suspect on foot.

Officers responded to a house in the 200 block of Gandy Street regarding a domestic disturbance, said Denison PD Sgt. Paul Neumann. When the officers arrived, a person was leaving the house in a car. One of the officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop with the car to see if the driver had been involved in the disturbance. The car pulled over, and the driver exited the car and fled on foot. The officer then exited the patrol car and began chasing after the driver.

During the chase, the officer sprained his knee. The suspect is still at large, Neumann said.
