Bth the Denison Independent School District and Sherman ISD will end school early today, giving students and parents a head start on the ice storm that weather experts say could be the worst Texoma has seen in several years. DISD spokeswoman Sherry Christie said education officials are holding open the possibility of cancelling school tomorrow, as well.

"We’re dismissing school early and our buses are going to run at 2 p.m. Parents who pick their kids up need to know that as well," said Christie. "We’ll let people know about tomorrow by 6 p.m. tonight."

Christie said the storm is expected to intensify overnight, making cancellation a real possibility.

"We’re pushing to have a decision on that as soon as possible," she said.

Sherman will dismiss its classes at 1:45 p.m. Thursday and all buses will run on their normal routes at that time. SISD has not made any determination, as of yet, about classes on Friday.
