DURANT, Okla. — Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation officials announced Wednesday that they have identified the man found dead Monday three miles east of Durant.

DURANT, Okla. — Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation officials announced Wednesday that they have identified the man found dead Monday three miles east of Durant.


The man has been identified as 32-year-old Steven Lee Sessums, according to a written release from the OSBI. Sessums was killed sometime Saturday morning, and his body was dumped near a creek where a passerby spotted it. OSBI agents arrested a Durant man Tuesday afternoon in connection with Sessums’ death.


The Oklahoma City medical examiner has determined Sessums died from blunt force trauma to his head and neck, the release said.
