COLLINSVILLE — A Collinsville house is completely destroyed after a fire began Thursday evening.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m. firefighters received reports of a fire at a house in the 2100 block of F.M. 902, said Grayson County Fire Investigator Kerry Price. The fire consumed about 70 percent of the one-story house, and it is at a total loss.

The residents of the house were not home at the time of the fire and nobody was injured, Price said.

Altogether, seven fire departments responded to the fire — Collinsville, Whitesboro, Gunter, Sadler, Tioga and Indian Creek — There is not an adequate amount of water in the area, Price said, so the departments brought water tankers. It took about 45 minutes for responders to get the fire under control.

Investigators believe the fire originated in the garage, but do not yet know the cause of the fire, Price said. The fire is under investigation.
