Cities in Grayson County experienced a 7.5 percent increase overall and Fannin County cities a 18.23 percent increase. Sales tax revenue growth for the state remained steady. The statewide sales tax revenue in February was $2.2 billion, up 5.8 percent compared to February 2013.


Grayson County cities experienced an overall increase to $1,895,467.01 from the same period last year. Sales tax revenue has increased 7.5 percent, year to date from last year. Fannin County cities experienced an overall increase to $176,575.67 from the same period last year. Sales tax revenue has increased 12.9 percent, year to date from last year.


"Sales tax revenue continues its growth streak and has now increased for 47 consecutive months," State Comptroller Susan Combs said. "Growth in tax collections was seen across all major economic sectors including oil and gas, wholesale trade and the services sector."


Combs will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts their March local sales tax allocations totaling $553 million, up 4.1 percent compared to March 2013.


Sherman’s sales tax revenue climbed 6.48 percent to $1,214,911.16. The city’s 2013 payments to date total $4,729,594.66, up 13.25 percent compared to last year. Denison’s sales tax allocation was up by 6.82 percent when compared with the same month last year. The city brought in $397,380.24. Payments to date are down 14.74 percent for the year, to $1,300,501.13.


Bells’ allocation for February is $17,837.38, up 34.4 percent from the same month last year. Collinsville’s is $11,163.17, up 21.13 percent. Dorchester’s is $541.32, up 73.55 percent. Gunter’s is $11,639.64, up 25.56 percent. Howe’s is $17,693.64, down 4.51 percent. Knollwood’s is $4,316.15, up 11.41 percent. Pottsboro’s is $38,383.63, up 24.98 percent. Sadler’s is $667.14, down 59.38 percent. Southmayd’s is $23,616.86, up 35.31 percent. Tioga’s is $6,848.37, up 44.37 percent. Tom Bean’s is $5,090.18, up 4.16 percent. Van Alstyne’s is $64,795.36, up 6.03 percent. Van Alstyne’s sales tax rate has changed within the past 14 months. Whitesboro’s is $61,048.80, up 5.44 percent. Whitewright’s is $19,535.97, up 14.59 percent.


Bailey’s allocation for January is $396.33, up 77.21 percent from the same month last year. Bonham’s is $112,588.05 up 8.69 percent. Dodd City’s is $441.49, down 14.28 percent. Ector’s is $1,138.41, down 49.94 percent. Honey Grove’s is $21,332.54, up 30.60 percent. Ladonia’s is $1,802.79, up 2.79 percent. Leonard’s is $19,553.10, up 30.82 percent. Ravenna’s is $275.49, down 14.58 percent. Savoy’s is $8,994.35, up 275.87 percent. Trenton’s is $9,458.43, up 38.83 percent. Windom’s is $594.69, up 231.96 percent.
