BONHAM — Time is running out for young artists to get their entries in to the Children’s Center’s annual art contest. Entries are due by 5 p.m. on March 31. The Children’s Center is seeking artwork which illustrates the theme "Open Your Heart."

Two winning entries will win special ribbons and cash prizes donated by Dr. Jim and Valerie Tarpley. The winning artwork will be reproduced on cards to help the agency raise funds to provide advocacy, counseling and other critical support services for the abused and neglected children of Fannin County.

Organizers advise that winning entries in the past have included hearts, kids, families and bright, cheerful colors. They also suggest that children may want to include the phrases "Open Your Heart" and/or "Children’s Center" in their drawings.

The winning artist will receive a $100 cash and their artwork will be reproduced on the front of the campaign card. Second place will win a $50 cash and have their artwork included inside of the card. All artwork will be on display at the Children’s Center during their annual open house on April 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. Winners will be recognized during the presentations which will begin at 5:30 pm.

Artwork must be turned in by 5 p.m. on March 31 at the Children’s Center at 112 West Fifth in Bonham. Entry forms and more information can be found at www.fanninccc.org.
