BELLS — Bells water customers are advised to boil all water prior to using it for drinking, cooking or ice making to ensure destruction of harmful bacteria and other microbes.

Bells officials said the order comes after city workers were working on a line break on Denison Street. Water usage has been restored to the area, but there is still a hole in the pipe. Consumers are being asked to boil their water as a precaution according to City Secretary Joanna Duevel.

The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. Duevel said she didn’t know how long the boil order will remain in place.

Those with questions about the boil order can contact city leaders at 903-965-7744 or TCEQ at 512-239-4691.
