A list of participating alumni was still being finalized, assistant coach Shawn Counts said.

The Vikings have numerous alumni playing major league baseball. The most notable of the active players is John Lackey, who pitched the Boston Red Sox to a clinching win over the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 6 of the World Series last week. As a rookie in 2002, Lackey was also the winning pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels in Game 7 of the World Series against the San Francisco Giants.

The Vikings have won three JUCO World Series national championships, including back-to-back titles in 1999 and 2000 and another in 2008.
