Morgan Malone, who grew up in Denison, recently accepted the position of Executive Director of the Denton Baptist Association. This organization includes 85 churches, two Baptist Student Ministries located on the campuses of the University of North Texas and Texas Woman’s University, three disaster relief ministries, and Camp Copass located in Denton.

Morgan Malone, who grew up in Denison, recently accepted the position of Executive Director of the Denton Baptist Association. This organization includes 85 churches, two Baptist Student Ministries located on the campuses of the University of North Texas and Texas Woman’s University, three disaster relief ministries, and Camp Copass located in Denton.


Malone’s job is to help support and strengthen the existing churches and ministries of the association. He also works with local staff, volunteers and church planners in addressing the need for future new church starts in the growing Denton County area.


Malone has served as a member of the Relevant Mission and Ministries Team for the Fannin Baptist Association and has also served as moderator for the group. On a state level, he has served as an Executive Board member of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Most recently he was a part of the State Missions Funding Group.


Malone was pastor of First Baptist Church of Bonham for 14 years before moving to his new position. He and his wife Cathy have four children, Jeffri, Andrew, Levi and Ashton. Malone is the son of Howard and Sue Malone, both of Denison. He and his family will be residing in North Denton County.
