Driving while intoxicated — A traffic stop was conducted on July 29 in the 1800 block of Texoma Parkway. The male driver was suspected of being intoxicated. After an investigation was conducted, the driver was determined to be intoxicated, with two outstanding Grayson County warrants and two previous convictions for DWI. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated third or more and the warrants.
Public intoxication — Officers were dispatched on July 29 to the 1000 block of North Ross Avenue in reference to an intoxicated male. Upon arrival, the officers located the suspect and conducted an investigation. The suspect was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested for public intoxication.
Disorderly conduct — Officers were dispatched on July 28 to the 4300 block of Quail Run Road in reference to a disturbance. Upon their arrival, the caller reported an adult male pointed a firearm at her children and used racial slurs. The children fled the area. No injuries were reported. A Sherman Police representative said the case was investigated and deemed inactive following inconsistencies in witness statements and lack corroborating evidence.
Public intoxication — Officers were dispatched on July 29 to the 1000 block of North Ross Avenue in reference to an intoxicated male. Officers arrived and located the suspect. They could smell the odor of alcohol coming from his breath, and they conducted an investigation. It was determined the suspect was intoxicated, and he was arrested for public intoxication.
Theft — An officer was dispatched on Aug. 6 to the 1500 block of South Sam Rayburn Freeway in reference to a stolen vehicle. It was learned that a vehicle had been stolen in the early morning hours. A report was generated for theft of property from $2,500-$30,000.
Stolen vehicle recovery — Sherman Police responded on Aug. 8 to the report of a stolen vehicle in the 1500 block of South Sam Rayburn Freeway. At the time of the investigation, a second vehicle was located in close proximity to the scene. The second vehicle had been stolen out of Plano and left in Sherman. An offense report was completed and the case is under investigation.
Public intoxication — Dispatch received a call on Aug. 7 reporting an intoxicated person in the 500 block of North Highland Avenue. Upon officer’s arrival, the male suspect was found in a public place and was intoxicated. The suspect was a danger to others due to his level of intoxication, and he was arrested for public intoxication.
Driving while intoxicated — Officers responded on Aug. 4 to the report of a disturbance in the 200 block of West Chestnut, with the suspects leaving in a vehicle. The vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation. The male driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated third or more, harassment of a public servant, and driving while license invalid/enhanced.
Burglary of a habitation — A female victim stated on Aug. 4 that someone stole jewelry from her residence. Officers will be following up on leads.
Assault causing bodily injury — A female victim stated on Aug. 5 that she was assaulted by her boyfriend after getting into an argument with him. She reported that the suspect assaulted her multiple times, choked her and then left the area. A case will be forwarded to the Grayson County District Attorney’s office.
Aggravated assault — A female victim stated on Aug. 5 that she was assaulted by her boyfriend by being hit in the head with a brick and pushed into a window, causing the window to break. The male suspect was arrested for aggravated assault/family violence.
Possession — Officers responded on Aug. 5 to a disturbance and someone refusing to leave the property in the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 75 South. The suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, criminal trespass and resisting arrest.
Criminal mischief — A male victim stated on Aug. 6 that an unknown suspect(s) broke out a window in his vehicle. Officers determined that it was broken out with a BB gun.
Theft — A victim stated on Aug. 7 that an unknown suspect(s) stole a homemade, 17 foot trailer, black in color, from a storage facility.
Burglary of a habitation — A male victim stated on Aug. 7 that an unknown suspect(s) entered his residence and took a television and a laptop computer.
Possession — A vehicle was stopped on Aug. 7 for a traffic violation at the intersection of Eddy and Day. The male driver was arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounces and open container of alcohol, after refusing to sign the citation for the alcohol violation.
Assault — Officers responded on Aug. 7 to the call of a welfare concern in the 500 block of West Rice. A female suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence and evading arrest/detention.
Driving while intoxicated — A vehicle was stopped on Aug. 8 for a traffic violation in the 400 block of East Main. The male driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
