Sherman Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a burglary suspect who may have broken into nearly a dozen different businesses over the last 10 months.

Sgt. Brett Mullen said the male suspect is believed to have broken into 10 businesses, largely located on Texoma Parkway, Travis Street and Walnut Street. Mullen said the suspect has focused on easily-grabbed items, such as cash drawers and merchandise. The department posted photos of the suspect to its Facebook page earlier this week.

“We’ve had a string of burglaries dating back to October 2017,” Mullen said. “Through the investigation and looking at surveillance video, and the method through which the burglaries occurred, we’re led to believe that they were committed by the same person.”

Mullen said targeted businesses included La Ranchero Restaurant, Silverado North Auto Sales, Texoma Vapors, Service Commercial Construction and Garland Insurance, among others. The suspect is described as a heavy-set man, approximately six feet in height.

If caught, Mullen said the suspect could face multiple burglary charges. The Sherman Police sergeant encouraged business owners to secure their properties as much as possible.

“Keep your doors locked, keep your property lit, especially in dark corners and behind your business,” Mullen said. “Any other measures that would make a burglar feel like you’re not an easy target and that they’re being watched will go a long way.”

Those with knowledge of the suspect’s identity are encouraged to call the Det. Jamie Bunetto at 903-892-7335.
