Sherman Police


Harassment — An officer was dispatched on July 5 to the 1000 block of Epstein Street in reference to a possible harassment call. After an investigation was conducted, it was determined the victim was being harassed via electronic media. A report for harassment was created.


Counterfeit currency — A male victim stated on July 3 that he withdrew money from a bank ATM and when he used the money to pay bills, one of the $100 bills was counterfeit.


Possession — A vehicle was stopped on July 3 for a traffic violation in the 600 block of North Austin. The male driver was arrested for outstanding City of Denison warrants and possession of marijuana less than two ounces.


Public intoxication — Officers responded on July 4 to a call of a fight in progress in the 600 block of South Mirick. A male suspect was arrested for public intoxication.


Assault by contact — A female victim stated on July 5 that she got into a vehicle to talk to her ex-boyfriend and he wanted her to get out and she wouldn’t. The suspect then pulled her by the hair and forced her out of the vehicle. The case has been referred to Municipal Court.


Public intoxication — Officers responded to a call of an intoxicated person in the 500 block of West Main. The male suspect was located and arrested for public intoxication.


Possession — Officers were dispatched on July 6 to the 500 block of North Highland Avenue in reference to an assist/service call. Upon arrival and investigation, it was determined a known party was in possession of illegal contraband/narcotics. The illegal contraband was seized as evidence. A report was taken, and the case is under investigation.


Assault causing bodily injury — An officer responded on July 6 to an apartment in the 300 block of North Heritage Parkway in reference to an assault. The male victim stated that his wife assaulted him. A report for assault causes bodily injury/family member was filed.


Theft of property — A male complainant made contact on July 6 with the public safety administrator regarding stolen property. He stated that a package was delivered to his residence in the 2900 block of North Travis Street but that it was taken from his front porch.


Theft of property — A male reporting party made contact on July 6 with the public safety administrator in reference to stolen property. He stated that property was taken from a parking lot in the 2300 block of West Pecan Grove Road. A report for theft of property from $750-$2,500 was taken.


Denison Police


Possession — Officers checked a suspicious vehicle on July 6 that was occupied by two people in the 2000 block of U.S. Highway 69. A female suspect was arrested for an outstanding parole violation warrant and possession of marijuana less than two ounces.


Criminal mischief — A complainant stated on July 6 that a former tenant damaged windows, walls and a door in a dwelling in the 500 block of East Nelson before moving out.


Criminal mischief — A female complainant stated on July 6 that her vehicle and her daughter’s vehicle were both damaged by something sharp being scratched with a sharp object, possibly a key, while parked in the 2900 block of West Parnell. Officers are following up on leads.


Assault/family violence — Officers responded on July 6 to a call reporting a domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of Corez. A suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence.


Burglary of a vehicle — A female victim stated on July 7 that an unknown suspect(s) broke a window in her vehicle in the 700 block of North U.S. Highway 75 and removed her purse and its contents.


Burglary of a habitation — A female victim stated on July 8 that an unknown suspect entered her home in the 300 block of Martin Luther King, possibly by door, and took two televisions, some clothes and jewelry.


Debit/credit card abuse — A female complainant stated on July 8 that someone has been withdrawing money from her account. Officers will be following up on leads.


Burglary of a vehicle — A complainant reported on July 8 that an unknown suspect(s) entered their vehicle in the 900 block of South Crockett by opening the sliding glass window. The suspect(s) then removed the stereo.


Theft — A female victim stated on July 8 that an unknown suspect stole(s) her dryer and metal storm door from the 600 block of West Monterey.


Theft — A male victim stated on July 8 that an unknown suspect(s) stole his bicycle from the front porch of his residence in the 600 block of West Monterey.


Burglary of a vehicle — A female victim reported on July 8 that an unknown suspect entered her vehicle in the 800 block of West Chestnut and stole her purse and three other bags.


Assault — Officers responded on July 9 to the call of a disturbance in the 1600 block of West Bond. A female and a male were arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence.
