A man was flown to a Plano hospital Thursday evening after the motorcycle he was driving crashed into another vehicle while he was fleeing from the Denison Police Department.
At approximately 8:45 p.m. Thursday evening, a Denison Police officer observed a motorcycle being driven in a reckless manner in the 1400 block of West Morton Street and turned to get behind it. The driver of the motorcycle sped up and the officer activated emergency lights and siren on the patrol vehicle.
The motorcycle driver traveled about two blocks, driving through the intersection of Morton Street and Brown Avenue before being struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Morton Street. The driver was thrown from the vehicle in the crash and was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time.
