Sherman Police


Assault — A female victim entered police headquarters on June 16 and reported being assaulted on the previous day by a co-worker at her place of employment in the 3300 block of Texoma Parkway. A report for assault causing bodily injury was generated.


Driving while intoxicated — An officer conducted a traffic stop on June 18 in the 100 block of South Rusk Street. The male driver of the vehicle was suspected of driving while intoxicated. An investigation was conducted, and it was determined that the driver was intoxicated. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated.


Warrant arrest — An officer conducted a traffic stop on June 19 in the 400 block of West Lamberth Road. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for an outstanding Grayson County warrant.


Driving while intoxicated — Officers were dispatched on June 18 to U.S. Highway 75 North and Houston Street for a possible intoxicated driver. Officers arrived on scene and conducted an investigation. A male suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated, second offense.


Burglary of a building —Officers responded on June 22 to the 200 block of East Sycamore Street in reference to the burglary of a building. The male victim advised that his storage building was broken into and that multiple items were missing. A report for burglary of a building was filed. The investigation is ongoing.


Found property — Officers were dispatched on June 22 to the 2100 block of Texoma Parkway in reference to found property. The property was recovered and taken to the Sherman Police Department for safekeeping. A report was generated for found property.


Assault with deadly weapon — Dispatch received a 911 call on June 22 in reference to an assault in the 900 block of East Wells Avenue. When officers arrived, they found injuries consistent with the victim’s statements. The male suspect was reported to have fled the scene. He was located by officers in the 800 block of East McGee and arrested for assault family/house member impede breath/circulation.


Criminal mischief — An officer responded on June 23 to a report of vandalism at a senior living community in the 1700 block of South Heritage Parkway. During the night, someone had entered the mailbox area and forced open several bulk mailboxes. A report for criminal mischief from $750-$2,500 was generated.


Theft of property — Officers were dispatched on June 23 to the 4100 block of Town Center Drive in reference to a theft. They spoke with the caller who advised that a suspect stole several items from the store. The suspect was placed under arrest, and a report for theft of property from $100-$750 was generated.


Possession — Officers were dispatched on June 23 to the 3600 block of South U.S. Highway 75 in reference to a disturbance. Witnesses claimed a male and female were fighting. Officers arrived and located a male suspect on scene. He was found to be in possession of marijuana less than two ounces. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Grayson County Jail.


Found property — A female located a wallet on June 24 in the parking lot of a business in the 400 block of East U.S. Highway 82.


Denison Police


Driving while license invalid — A vehicle was stopped on June 22 for a traffic violation at Spur 503 and Texoma Parkway. The female driver was arrested for driving while license invalid.


Criminal mischief — A complainant stated on June 22 that someone forced open some doors to a residence and gained entry. It is uncertain whether any property was taken. Officers are following up on leads.


Criminal mischief — A complainant reported on June 23 that an unknown suspect(s) damaged some mailbox containers in the 1400 block of State Highway 91 by prying them open from a wall.


Criminal mischief — A complainant stated on June 23 that an unknown suspect(s) damaged a mailbox unit at Lillis and Village Green Court by prying open the back of the unit. It is not known if any mail was taken.


Suspicious person — Officers responded on June 24 to a call reporting a suspicious person in the 1700 block of South Armstrong. A male suspect was arrested for public intoxication.


Possession — A vehicle was stopped on June 24 for a traffic violation at Tone and Johnson. A female suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana less than two ounces and possession of drug paraphernalia.


Injury to an elderly individual — A complainant stated on June 25 that a patient was injured on her arms (bruising) by an employee of a local nursing home. The investigation will continue.


Theft — A male complainant stated on June 25 that a former employee of his embezzled money from the company during their employment with the company. The investigation will continue.


Driving while intoxicated — Officers responded on June 25 to the call of a motor vehicle accident in the 200 block of North U.S. Highway 75. A male driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
