For many years, Loose Wheels served as one of the centers for live music, drinks and dining in Denison along U.S. Highway 75. However, all things must come to an end, as the restaurant announced its closure Wednesday.

In a brief post on its Facebook page, the restaurant announced that it has permanently closed. The website for the restaurant had also been updated with a picture of the restaurant’s signature motorcycle statue back lit by a sunset with the words “Memories become stories become legends…” captioning it.

“Yes, it’s true. The property has been sold,” Loose Wheels said in the post. “We are closed. More info to come. Stay tuned. #whereoneadventureendsanotherbegins #retirement.”

The restaurant is adorned with the equipment of a military radar station. Inside, the supports for the old radar tower made up the base for the restaurant’s bar, while the top of the tower stands on the top of the building.

Most recently, the restaurant was recognized in the 2018 Best of Texoma Awards as a top 3 for best Bloody Mary and best bar. Texoma residents also voted it as the first place for best to listen to live music for this year.

The post gave no details about who had purchased the property or its future use. Calls and messages to management listed by the Texas Secretary of State for Loose Wheels LLC were not returned.
