Denison Police


Burglary/criminal mischief — A complainant stated on May 30 that an unknown suspect(s) took a radiator out of the bed of a pickup truck and drilled holes in the fuel tank. Holes were also drilled in the fuel tank of a second pickup truck.


Theft — A female victim stated on May 28 that a 2003 Prowler motor home was stolen from her driveway in the 2000 block of Shannon Road. Officers will be following up on leads.


Criminal mischief — A female victim stated on May 28 that someone shot a window of her vehicle with a BB gun in the 100 block of Smith Drive. Officers will be following up on leads.


Public intoxication — An officer observed a female on May 28 who was sitting bent over beneath a tree while holding a hospital issued blanket near the intersection of Bullock and Chandler. The suspect was arrested for public intoxication.


Criminal mischief — A male victim stated on May 28 that someone spray painted obscenities on three exterior walls of his residence in the 2600 block of West Elm. Officers will be following up on leads.


Assault by contact — A male complainant reported on May 28 that he was assaulted (by being pushed), in the 300 block of East Main, by a man he has had problems with in the past. The case has been referred to municipal court.


Public intoxication — Officers responded on May 28 to the call of an individual sleeping on the front porch of an abandoned house in the 900 block of West Morgan. A male suspect was arrested for public intoxication.


Assault — Officers responded on May 29 to a disturbance in the 800 block of North U.S. Highway 75. A male suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence.


Deadly conduct — An officer responded on May 30 to a female complainant in the 200 block of East Walker. She stated that she heard a loud pop while checking her residence and found a bullet lying in a cabinet. There are no suspects at this time.


Sherman Police


Burglary of a habitation — Police were dispatched on May 29 to the 700 block of East McGee in reference to a burglary. The female victim stated she found the back door to her residence had been forced open, when she arrived home. She said multiple items had been stolen. A report for burglary of a habitation was filed, and the investigation is ongoing.


Found property — An officer was dispatched on May 29 to the 1600 block of North Newman in reference to found property. A subject had located an abandoned safe in the creek area nearby. The property was seized pending location of the owner. A report was completed for found property.


Criminal mischief — An officer responded on May 29 to the complaint of a broken window in a vehicle in the 300 block of South Vaden. The passenger window of the vehicle had been broken. A report for criminal mischief was generated.


Assault — An officer was dispatched on May 30 to the 900 block of North Ross in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined that two individuals had been involved in an altercation. One individual was arrested and a report was filed for assault causes bodily injury family violence.


Possession — An officer conducted a traffic stop on June 1 in the 2000 block of East Lamar. During the officer’s investigation, a male passenger gave the officer consent to search his person for illegal substances. The officer found 0.53 grams of methamphetamine in one of the suspect’s pockets. The suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1, less than one gram.


Burglary — An officer responded on June 1 to a complaint in the 800 block of North Ross. Upon officer arrival, it was found that the mother of the victim’s child unlawfully entered the victim’s residence and assaulted him. A report was made for burglary of a habitation. The investigation is ongoing.


Theft of property — An officer was dispatched on June 1 to a complaint of theft. It was reported that a female employee stole money from a business in the 2200 block of East Lamar. The complainant advised that the female stole over $2,500. A report for theft was generated.


Burglary of a vehicle —Officers were dispatched on June 1 to the 200 block of North Sunset in reference to the burglary of a motor vehicle. The male complainant stated that someone had stolen his prescription medication. A report for burglary of a motor vehicle was generated.


Assault — Dispatch received a call on June 1 reporting an assault in the 500 block of North Highland. Officers arrived on the scene and it was determined that an assault between a patient and a security officer had occurred. A report for assault by contact was generated.


Driving while intoxicated — An officer was dispatched on June 2 to the 1900 block of U.S. Highway 82 in reference to a vehicle traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes. When the officer arrived, the vehicle was pulled over at the center median of the westbound lanes facing east. During the investigation, it was discovered that the male driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated second.
