Suspicious persons — An officer on patrol on May 27 observed three people in the 1100 block of South Rusk who appeared to be trying to avoid him. One of the men ran and was apprehended. The male suspect was arrested for tampering with evidence, evading arrest/detention with previous conviction, possession of a controlled substance, an outstanding Grayson County warrant, and failure to identify/fugitive from justice.
Criminal trespass/criminal mischief — An officer observed a vehicle on May 24 parked in the parking lot of a local store and knew the owner of the vehicle had been issued a criminal trespass warning for the property. The male suspect was arrested for criminal trespass. After being placed in a police patrol unit, the suspect started kicking a door of the vehicle and damaged it, resulting in a charge of criminal mischief being added.
Burglary of a habitation — A male victim stated on May 25 that an unknown suspect(s) entered his residence in the 500 block of Martin Luther King and took an air conditioner and a pad lock.
Counterfeit currency — Store personnel stated on May 25 that a male entered their store in the 800 block of West Crawford and attempted to pay for merchandise with a counterfeit $100 bill. The investigation will continue.
Theft — A male victim stated on May 25 that an unknown suspect(s) stole his riding lawn mower and weedeater from outside his residence in the 1000 block of North Mirick.
Assault by contact — A female victim stated on May 25 that a male came to her residence and they got into an argument, and the male pushed her twice. The case has been referred to Municipal Court.
Driving while license invalid — An officer stopped a vehicle on May 26 for a traffic violation at the intersection of Austin and Travis. The male driver was arrested for driving while license invalid/enhanced.
Erratic driver — Officers responded on May 27 to the report of an erratic driver in the 3700 block of Texoma Parkway. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Assault/unauthorized use of vehicle — An officer responded on May 28 to a female victim in the 1700 block of West Bond. She stated that her former boyfriend assaulted her by punching her, causing her to fall back. The suspect then took her keys to a vehicle and left in it. The vehicle was later recovered and had been damaged. The case has been forwarded to the district attorney’s office, and the investigation will continue.
Driving while intoxicated — An officer responded on May 26 to the report of an intoxicated female leaving a business in the 2700 block of North U.S. Highway 75. The suspect was observed driving a vehicle in the parking lot and stopped. She failed a roadside standardized field sobriety test and was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Driving while intoxicated — An officer was dispatched on May 26 to the 900 block of South Travis Street in reference to a vehicle striking a building. Upon arrival, the officer discovered that a male suspect had struck an apartment building with his vehicle. The suspect was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for driving while intoxicated. There was only minor damage to the building and no one was injured.
Theft of property — An officer was on patrol on May 27 in the 1800 block of West U.S. Highway 82 and observed that a chain had been cut and that a gate to a business was open. After a representative of the business arrived, it was determined that two mowers had been stolen during the night. A report for theft from $2,500-$30,000 was filed, and the case will be forwarded to CID for further investigation.
Theft — An officer was dispatched on May 27 to the 4400 block of Frisco Road in reference to a theft. A trailer and lawnmower had been stolen from a commercial property during the night time hours. A report for theft was generated.
Unauthorized use of vehicle — An officer responded on May 27 to a female complainant in the 3000 block of Dauphine. She stated that she loaned her vehicle to a friend and it was never returned. A report was generated for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Criminal mischief — Officers were dispatched on May 27 to a disturbance in the 1800 block of Texoma Parkway. Upon arrival, they spoke with both parties involved. The officers’ investigation revealed that a male had broken a door to the residence. The damage was valued at $300 and a report for criminal mischief was completed.
Forgery financial instrument — Officers responded on May 27 to a report of counterfeit bills being passed in the 1800 block of Texoma Parkway. Upon arrival, they learned that a suspect had passed 10 counterfeit bills. A report for forgery financial instrument was generated.
Found property — An officer was dispatched on May 28 to the 100 block of South Bryant Avenue in reference to found property. The property was collected and a report was generated for found property.
