Sherman Police


Assault by offensive contact — Officers were dispatched on May 26 to a disturbance in the 1700 block of Timberline Drive. Upon arrival, they found a couple arguing over a custody issue. Both parties were involved in a physical fight when trying to take the child away from one another. A report was generated for assault by offensive contact family member.


Unauthorized use of vehicle — An officer was dispatched on May 26 to the 4900 block of Timberview Drive in reference to a possible stolen vehicle. After an investigation, it was determined that the vehicle was taken without the consent of the owner and a report for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle was created.


Assault by contact — An officer was dispatched on May 26 to a location in the 1800 block of West Washington that night shift officers had responded to about 30 minutes earlier. It was determined that a male who had established residency at the apartment had returned and forced open the front door causing damage. A female inside the apartment reportedly touched a cigar/cigarette against his arm. He did not feel pain but found the contact offensive. A report for assault by contact family violence was completed. A separate report for criminal mischief from $100-$750 was also completed.


Credit/debit card abuse — An officer responded on May 26 to a male complainant in the police department lobby. The complainant stated that an unknown suspect(s) had made numerous unauthorized charges to his credit card. A report for credit card or debit card abuse was completed.


Criminal mischief — An officer was dispatched on May 26 to Timbercreek Road in reference to several mailboxes having been damaged in that area. The officer located several victims and completed a report for criminal mischief from $100-$750. A possible suspect was identified and the investigation is ongoing.


Driving while license invalid — Officers conducted a traffic stop on May 26 on a vehicle in the 2200 block of Texoma Parkway. The male driver showed to have a suspended drivers license and was also driving a vehicle that was not insured. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver was arrested for driving while license invalid and for having no insurance on the vehicle.


Theft of property — Officers responded on May 26 to the 3000 block of North U.S. Highway 75 in reference to criminal trespassing. An employee advised that the suspect had stolen two small bottles of wine and then departed prior to officers’ arrival. A report for theft of property less than $100 was filed.


Denison Police


Possession — Officers responded on May 20 to the report of a suspicious person in a cemetery in the 700 block of North Travis. A male suspect was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.


Burglary of a building — Officers were dispatched on May 21 to the 4200 block of North U.S. Highway 75 in reference to a storage container being broken into. An unknown suspect(s) took two generators, two grease guns and miscellaneous tools. Damage was also done to a front end loader — broken window and damage to the ignition.


Burglary of a vehicle — A female victim stated on May 21 that someone entered her unsecured vehicle and took a necklace, cash and a key to the vehicle.


Intoxicated person — Officers responded on May 21 to the report of an intoxicated person in the 400 block of North U.S. Highway 75. The suspect was arrested for public intoxication.


Assault by contact — A male victim stated on May 21 that he was punched one time with a closed fist in the 2000 block of North U.S. Highway 69. The case has been referred to municipal court.


Stolen vehicle — A male victim stated on May 21 that an unknown suspect(s) stole his 1984 Chevrolet C-10 pickup. Officers will be following up on leads.


Theft — Store personnel stated on May 22 that a male performed a fraudulent return on merchandise at a store in the 400 block of North U.S. Highway 75. He also left the store with merchandise that was not paid for. The suspect has been identified and a case will be forwarded to the Grayson County District Attorney’s office.


Evading arrest — An officer attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 200 block of East Murray. The female driver fled and drove several blocks before stopping. She then attempted to flee on foot and was taken into custody. She was arrested for evading arrest/detention with a vehicle with previous convictions, possession of dangerous drugs and outstanding city of Denison warrants. A passenger in the vehicle was arrested for public intoxication.


Burglary of a vehicle — A female victim stated on May 23 that an unknown suspect(s) entered her vehicle and took a box of ammunition, a purse and contents, and a pair of sunglasses.


Burglary of a business — Complainants stated on May 24 that unknown suspect(s) entered a work trailer at a construction site and removed numerous construction tools. Damage was also done to a different trailer, but nothing was taken from that trailer.
