Denison Police said three people were treated for injuries that were not life-threatening Thursday night after a motorcycle and pickup collided.
Lt. Mike Eppler stated the crash occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Morton Street and Lillis Lane, but said he did not immediately know the vehicles’ directions of travel. Eppler said the motorcycle, occupied by a male driver and female passenger, entered the intersection and the path of the truck, driven by a male motorist.
“He failed to stop at a red light and got struck by the pickup,” Eppler said of the motorcyclist.
It was unclear whether the motorcyclists were wearing helmets at the time of the crash. Eppler said the driver of the motorcycle was taken to a Plano-area hospital and treated primarily for bone fractures, while his passenger was treated for injuries and released. The driver of the truck was also taken to a hospital for injuries, which Eppler said were not serious.
As of Friday morning, Eppler said no citation had been filed against the driver of the motorcycle, but said one could be filed at a later date at the discretion of the officer overseeing the crash investigation.
