Reynaldo Cruz, 45, of Denison, was indicted Wednesday on a murder charge in the death of Daniel Olivera Hernandez.
The indictment is a formal charge and not an indication of guilt.
Back on April 29, Hernandez was found deceased from multiple gunshot wounds at a house in the 800 block of West Monterey. Police were called to the home about a shooting there.
Denison Police Lt. Mike Eppler said, at the time of the incident, that Cruz and Hernandez were engaged in a conflict prior to the shooting.
“It was over a relationship,” Eppler said at the time, though he said he could not say more because it was an ongoing investigation.
Eppler said the investigation quickly settled on Cruz as a suspect and a vehicle description of his car was sent out to neighboring police agencies. Sherman Police located a car matching that description at a local store and Denison Police took Cruz into custody there.
Cruz is being held on $1 million bond.
Grayson County court records do not show an attorney of record on the murder charge.
