Less than a week after Christopher Harrell’s attorney Timothy Brown asked 59th state District Judge Larry Phillips to set a bail amount on the charge that got his client locked up, the county indicted Harrell on the fraudulent possession of identification that eventually led the state to file murder charges.

Harrell is currently in the Grayson County Jail under a $1 million bond for the murder charge in the death of his neighbor back in October. The indictments are formal charges and not an indication of guilt.

In a news release from the time of the incident, Sherman Police said Harrell and Lindsey had been neighbors and Harrell was stopped, the same week that Lindsey’s daughter reported him missing, in Lindsey’s truck. Harrell then identified himself as Lindsey and produced Lindsey’s driver’s license. The officer who stopped Harrell took him at his word and released him.

Harrell was arrested on a forgery of financial information charge. Earlier this week Brown argued that his client was either entitled to have a bond set on the identification charge or have it thrown out. Grayson County Assistant District Attorney Britton Brooks said the District Attorney’s Office had no intention of throwing out the charge.
