No one was injured in a minor collision involving a school bus in Sherman Thursday. The wreck occurred around 4:30 p.m. just outside the Shadow Mountain Mobile Home Park at 1601 FM 1417.

Sherman Police Officer Tim Gann said a pickup truck with two occupants was traveling west on FM 1417 when a Sherman ISD bus pulled out in front of the vehicle and was clipped. Gann said the bus had five students, an assistant and a bus driver on board. All occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision, he said.

Gann said that the damage was relatively minor and both vehicles were able to leave the scene on their own power. A second school bus was brought on the scene in case it was needed, but was later released as the other bus left.

Sherman ISD Director of Communications Emily Parks said district policy calls for parents of affected students to be notified. Members of the transportation department reached out to the parents.
