Denison Police


Theft — A male victim stated on May 2 that someone stole his electric wheelchair from under the carport of his residence in the 600 block of East Gandy. He named a possible suspect.


Credit/debit card abuse —A female complainant stated on May 2 in the 500 block of East Hanna that a relative used her debit card to purchase phones over the internet. The case will be forwarded to the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office.


Burglary of a building — A male complainant stated on May 2 that an unknown suspect(s) removed the lock from his storage building in the 3200 block of North State Highway 91 and replaced it with a different lock. A box of Xbox games and two pairs of military dress blue pants were missing from the storage building.


Disturbance — An officer responded on May 2 to the call of a person refusing to leave a bar in the 1700 block of West Morton and creating a disturbance. A female suspect was arrested for public intoxication.


Criminal mischief — A male victim stated on May 3 that an unknown suspect(s) threw a softball through a window in his residence and may have taken some medications.


Sherman Police


Theft of property — Officers responded on April 28 to the report of theft from a business in the 900 block of Sam Rayburn Freeway. It was stated that exhaust parts had been removed from several company vehicles during the night. A report for criminal mischief between $2,500-$30,000 was completed.


Criminal mischief — Officers were dispatched on April 28 to the 900 block of South Hub Street in reference to a window being broken in a residence. Through the investigation, it was discovered that the homeowner’s vehicle had been damaged as well. A report for criminal mischief from $100-$750 was generated.


Possession — An officer located a vehicle on April 28 in the 2500 block of West Center Street. Two occupants were found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. A report for possession of marijuana less that two ounces was completed.


Criminal mischief — Officers responded on April 28 to the report of a burglary in the 800 block of South Hazelwood Street. Upon arrival, they learned that no entry into the residence had been made, but a brick had been thrown through a window in the house. A report for criminal mischief was filed.


Possession — An officer conducted a traffic stop on April 28 in the 1600 block of East Houston Street. During the traffic stop, the officer saw drug paraphernalia in plain view, which led to a probable cause search of the vehicle. Narcotics were located in the vehicle, and it was learned that the female driver had outstanding traffic warrants from the Sherman Police Department. The driver was arrested for possession of narcotics and the outstanding warrants.


Driving while intoxicated — Officers were dispatched on April 28 to the 1900 block of North Travis Street in response to a two-vehicle accident. After an investigation was conducted, it was determined that one of the drivers was intoxicated. The male suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated.


Theft of property — An officer was dispatched on April 28 to the 400 block of East U.S. Highway 82 in reference to a theft. Upon investigation, it was learned that a male suspect had stolen merchandise and that he had a previous conviction. The suspect was arrested for theft of property less than $100 with a previous conviction.


Assault — An officer responded on April 28 to a disturbance in the 800 block of South Throckmorton. The officer investigated the offense and took a report for assault causing bodily injury/family violence. The investigation is ongoing.


Assault —An officer was dispatched on April 28 to the 500 block of North Bryant Avenue in response to a 911 call reporting a possible assault. Upon investigation it was found that an assault had occurred. A female suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence and transported to the Grayson County Jail.


Evading arrest — An officer located a stolen truck on April 29 in the 600 block of North Cleveland and attempted to stop the truck. It continued for two more blocks and then stopped, with the occupants leaving the vehicle and fleeing on foot. The male driver was caught and arrested for theft of property from $2,500-$30,000, evading arrest detention with a motor vehicle and evading arrest detention and possession of marijuana less than two ounces.
