Sherman Police


Possession — Officers conducted a traffic stop on April 20 in the 2100 block of Texoma for failure to use a turn signal prior to 100 feet. A marijuana blunt and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia objects were found inside the vehicle. A female occupant in the vehicle was arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounces, possession of drug paraphernalia and a city traffic warrant. A male occupant was arrested for a county warrant. Both were transported to Grayson County Jail.


Continuous violence — Officers were dispatched on April 20 to the 300 block of North Heritage Parkway in reference to an assault. A female victim reported that her common-law husband had assaulted her by holding her down and punching her multiple times. The complainant had injuries that supported her claims. A male suspect was arrested for continuous violence against the family.


Possession — Officers were dispatched on April 20 to the 1700 block of Northbrook Lane in response to an individual smelling marijuana smoke. Upon arrival, the officers detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from a vehicle nearby. A female suspect was arrested for possession of marijuana less that two ounces.


Driving while license invalid — An officer stopped a vehicle on April 20 for speeding in the 2000 block of Loy Lake Road. The driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license and active traffic warrants from Allen, McKinney and Richardson. The vehicle was also not insured. A male suspect was arrested for driving while license invalid, the active warrants and no insurance.


Burglary — An officer responded on April 20 to a male complainant in the 300 block of Progress Drive. He stated that a suspect stole batteries from several vehicles on the property. Some of the batteries were taken from an RV and work trucks. A report was generated for burglary of a vehicle.


Hit and run — Officers were dispatched on April 20 in reference to a minor accident. One of the involved parties left the scene and did not exchange information with others involved in the accident. The party that fled was identified and a report for hit and run was filed.


Assault — An officer was dispatched on April 20 to the 2200 block of Texoma Parkway in reference to assault. It was reported that a female had assaulted two male victims. The suspect left the scene before the officer arrived. The investigation is ongoing.


Denison Police


Assault — A female victim stated on April 13 that her husband entered her place of employment in the 1100 block of Reba McEntire Lane and yelled at her and slapped her. She said he also made threats toward another employee of the business. A case will be forwarded to the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office.


Failure to identify — Officers responded on April 13 to a call requesting assistance from a parole department employee in the 700 block of West Morgan. A male suspect and a female suspect were each arrested for outstanding Grayson County warrants and for failure to identify/fugitive from justice.


Driving while intoxicated — Officers responded on April 13 to the call of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. Highway 75 and Spur 503. A suspect was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.


Theft — A male victim stated on April 14 that copper wire, a generator, pipe threader and auto parts were missing in the 400 block of West Coffin. Officers are following up on leads.


Assault — A male victim stated on April 14 that he was visiting his child at his ex-wife’s residence when he was assaulted by a male at the residence. The case has been referred to municipal court.


Driving while intoxicated — An officer stopped a vehicle on April 15 for a traffic violation in the 1100 block of South Austin. A male suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated.


Assault — A female complainant stated on April 16 that a man was at her residence to repossess a vehicle, and while she was removing items from the vehicle, the man touched her back. The case has been referred to municipal court.


Burglary — A complainant stated on April 16 that a suspect entered a building in the 1000 block of North Austin and took numerous power tools and lawn equipment items.


Possession — A vehicle was stopped on April 16 for a traffic violation in the 1400 block of South Austin. A male suspect was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and another male suspect was arrested for public intoxication.


Criminal trespass — Officers responded on April 18 to a disturbance call in the 600 block of East Main. A male suspect was arrested for criminal trespass.


Burglary/theft of firearm — A male victim stated on April 18 that a suspect entered his possibly unlocked vehicle and removed a handgun.


Burglary — A male victim stated on April 18 that he is missing a push lawnmower and gas can from his unlocked storage building. Officers will be following up on leads.
