Sherman Police


Theft of firearm — An officer was dispatched on Feb. 21 to the 200 block of North Grand in reference to the burglary of a vehicle. The victim said his rifle and handgun were stolen out of his car. Reports for theft of a firearm and burglary of a vehicle were generated.


Assault — Officers responded on Feb. 21 to a disturbance in the 300 block of Archer Drive. After investigating, it was determined that a relative had assaulted another relative. Minor injuries were reported by both parties. The suspect was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily injury to a family member. The case is under investigation.


Driving while intoxicated — Dispatch received a call on Feb. 22 in reference to a possibly intoxicated driver in the 500 block of southbound North U.S. Highway 75. Officers responded and stopped the vehicle after observing it swerving all of the road and failing to maintain a single lane. Officers made contact with the male driver of the vehicle and found him to be intoxicated. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.


Possession — Officers conducted a traffic stop on Feb. 24 in the 2100 block of Texoma Parkway. During the stop, it was found that the driver had marijuana in the vehicle. The driver was arrested for possession of marijuana less then two ounces.


Assault — Officers were dispatched on Feb. 24 to the 1800 block of West Washington Street in reference to a possible assault. The male complainant reported being assaulted by a family member but refused to provide any additional information. He was transported to the hospital for minor injuries. A report was taken and the case is under investigation.


Assault — Officers responded on Feb. 24 to a disturbance in the 1900 block of Grand Avenue. A female victim stated that a suspect pulled her hair during an argument. A report was generated for assault causing bodily injury to a family member.


Driving while license invalid — An officer conducted a traffic stop on Feb. 24 in the 300 block of South 1417. The driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license and a previous conviction for driving while license invalid. An offense report was generated.


Assault — Officers responded on Feb. 24 to a female complainant in the 1300 block of South Elm Street. She claimed that her juvenile daughter assaulted her. A report was filed for assault-family violence. The case is under investigation.


Failure to identify — An officer initiated a traffic stop on Feb. 24 in the 300 block of South 1417. During the stop, one of the passengers intentionally provided the officer with a fictitious date of birth. The passenger was also found to have a warrant for his arrest. The passenger was arrested for the warrant and failure to identify as a fugitive. An offense report was generated.


Denison Police


Credit/debit card abuse — An officer responded on Feb. 20 to a complainant in the 2900 block of Sidney. It was reported that someone used a company debit card to make personal purchases. Officers will be following up on leads.


Theft — A male complainant reported on Feb. 21 that a suspect took his 2013 Peace Moped from a drive port area in the 100 block of Memorial drive.


Fraudulent use identifying information — An officer responded on Feb. 21 to a female complainant in the 900 block of Twining Drive. She stated that someone used her social security number to obtain credit. Officers will be following up on leads.


Possession — A vehicle was stopped on Feb. 22 for traffic violations in the 2800 block of West Walker. The male driver was arrested for having no driver’s license and possession of a controlled substance. A male passenger was arrested for tampering with evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia.


Burglary of a building — A complainant reported on Feb. 22 that several storage units had locks removed and items removed in the 3200 block of North State Highway 91. The investigation will continue.


Theft — An officer responded on Feb. 22 to a female complainant at a business in the 400 block of North U.S. Highway 75. She stated that someone stole her wallet either out of her shopping cart or after she laid it down on a shelf. The wallet was recovered, but the money and other contents were missing. Officers will be following up on leads.


Disturbance — Officers responded on Feb. 24 to a disturbance call in the 1000 block of West Star. A male suspect was arrested for public intoxication, criminal trespass, evading arrest/detention and resisting arrest.
