Sherman Police


Assault by contact — A female resident returned home on Feb. 16 to find that her husband had another female in their residence in the 2500 block of North Shannon. The husband pushed his wife outside of the residence to keep her from seeing the other female. A report was taken for assault by contact family member.


Driving while license invalid — Officers conducted a traffic stop on Feb. 12 near the intersection of Dewey Avenue and Wells Avenue. The male driver was arrested for an outstanding warrant and driving while license invalid with previous convictions. A report was generated.


Possession — Officers detained a male on Feb. 13 for walking in the wrong lane of traffic. While speaking to the suspect, he consented to a search of his person. A testable amount of methamphetamine was located and the suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance less than one gram.


Burglary of a building — An officer was dispatched on Feb. 16 to the 2000 block of Texoma Parkway in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, it was found that a suspect had forced entry into a closed business and stolen money. The investigation is ongoing.


Assault causing bodily injury — An officer was dispatched on Feb. 16 to the 2400 block of South First Street in response to a family disturbance. One of the adult females involved had left prior to the officer’s arrival. The other female who was there stated she had been assaulted four days ago at their residence. A report was filed for assault causing bodily injury-family member.


Criminal trespass — An officer responded on Feb. 16 to a female complainant in the 1300 block of East King Street. She stated that her ex-husband entered onto her property after having received a criminal trespass warning for the property. A report was generated for criminal trespass.


Assault causing bodily injury — Officers were dispatched on Feb. 16 to the 1700 block of North Lockhart Street in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, they conducted an investigation. It was discovered that an assault occurred between a teenage male and his mother. A report was filed for assault causing bodily injury-family member.


Possession — An officer conducted a traffic stop on Feb. 16 in the 600 block of West Lamar Street. He spoke with both occupants in the vehicle and was given consent to search the vehicle. Contraband was found inside the vehicle and a male suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance less than one gram in a drug free zone. A report was generated.


Denison Police


Burglary of a vehicle — A complainant stated on Feb. 10 that someone entered his vehicle in the 2300 block of West Walker and took cash from inside. Officers are following up on leads.


Terroristic threat — Officers responded on Feb. 10 to a female victim in the 7200 block of Driggs Drive. She stated that her husband was angry and destroying the inside of their residence. He also made threats against her life. The male suspect was arrested for terroristic threat/family/household.


Burglary of a building — A complainant reported on Feb. 11 that two handheld, two-way radios were taken from an engine bay in the 700 block of West Chestnut. The male suspect was located a few blocks away and arrested for burglary of a building. The property was recovered.


Assault — A female victim stated on Feb. 11 that her husband assaulted her by grabbing her in a bear hug, pushing her up against a wall, and pushing her down. The male suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence.


Assault — A male victim reported on Feb. 12 that he was struck with an open hand by an individual whom he had told to leave his residence. The case has been forwarded to municipal court.


Theft — Officers responded on Feb. 12 to a female complainant in the 2700 block of Juanita Drive. She stated that she is missing a diamond ring, and she named a possible suspect. The investigation will continue.


Deadly conduct — Two juveniles stated on Feb. 12 that they were walking in the 500 block of North Brown and a pickup drove by and a passenger pointed a shotgun at them. The two juveniles ran from the area. No shots were fired, and no one was hurt. The investigation will continue.


Possession — A vehicle was stopped on Feb. 12 for a traffic violation at the intersection of U.S. Highway 75 and Loy Lake Road. The male driver was arrested for failure to yield for an emergency vehicle. His passenger was arrested for possession of marijuana.
