Denison Police arrested a 67-year-old man Tuesday after he allegedly fired a gun at a parked vehicle.
Lt. Mike Eppler said officers were dispatched to the 600 block of South Hyde Park Avenue shortly after 12 p.m. upon receiving a report of shots fired. Eppler said no one was in the vehicle, which was struck by a single bullet from a handgun, and no injuries were reported.
“The information we got was that a vehicle driving down the street stopped and (the suspect) shot a hole in a guy’s car and drove on off,” Eppler said. “They (witnesses) saw it and he (the suspect) lives in the neighborhood there. So our officer showed up down there and got him in custody.”
Eppler said the man was taken into custody on a charge of deadly conduct. The Denison Police lieutenant said it was unclear why the man fired at the vehicle.
“We honestly don’t know,” Eppler said.
