Criminal mischief — A male complainant reported on Jan. 19 that a vehicle was following him in a reckless manner on U.S. Highway 75. and an occupant threw two items at his vehicle, one being a drink bottle. Both vehicles exited the highway and stopped and the complainant stated the suspect was trying to get him to engage in a fight. The complainant left and drove to the police department to make the report. Officers will be following up on leads.
Possession — A vehicle was stopped on Jan. 18 for a traffic violation in the 300 block of West Murray. The male driver was arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounces.
Theft — A female complainant reported on Jan. 19 that her son’s cellphone was stolen from the school cafeteria in the 4200 block of North State Highway 91. Officers will be following leads.
Criminal mischief —A complainant stated on Jan. 19 that a vehicle struck a gas pump at a convenience store in the 1400 block of West Morton, and then left the scene. The investigation will continue.
Possession — A vehicle was stopped on Jan. 20 for a traffic violation at the intersection of U.S. Highway 75 and Randall Lake Road. The male driver was arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounces.
Theft — A complainant reported on Jan. 20 that a suspect stole an unsecured bicycle from a bicycle rack in the 300 block of West Gandy.
Counterfeit currency — Officers responded to a male complainant in the 400 block of North U.S. Highway 75. He stated that he made a purchase at a local business and was advised that a $50 dollar bill he had given was counterfeit. The investigation will continue.
Possession — Two vehicles were observed on Jan. 20 driving erratically on Morton Street. Both vehicles stopped in the parking lot of a local business. A male suspect was arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounces and an outstanding Grayson County warrant.
Possession — A vehicle was stopped on Jan. 21 for a traffic violation in the 1800 block of State Highway 91. The male driver was arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounces and an outstanding City of Denison warrant.
Theft — A male complainant stated on Jan. 22 that a suspect stole his flatbed trailer loaded with firewood out of his driveway in the 1500 block of South Chandler, while he was at a neighbor’s house. Officers are following up on leads.
Disturbance — Officers responded on Jan. 22 to a female complainant in the 1600 block of West Johnson. She stated that a relative took her vehicle without permission, drove it to another city, and then returned home in it. Officers questioned the suspect, who denied being in the vehicle. A case will be forwarded to the Grayson County District Attorney’s office.
Theft — An officer observed an abandoned, unsecured trailer in a business parking lot in the 200 block of East Lamar Street. While inspecting the trailer, no license plate or VIN plate could be located. He was able to obtain a VIN and the name of the owner of the trailer. He contacted the owner, who was unaware his trailer had been stolen during the night. The trailer was returned and an offense report was completed.
Assault — Officers were dispatched on Jan. 20 to the 1300 block of North Brents Avenue in reference to a possible disturbance. Upon officers arrival, they learned a man had assaulted his ex-girlfriend at her house and then fled the scene. A report for assault causes bodily injury family member was generated.
Driving while license invalid — An officer stopped a vehicle on Jan. 20 for driving the wrong way near U.S. Highway 75 and Houston Street. The male driver had a suspended driver’s license and an outstanding warrant from Grayson County. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Grayson County Jail.
Criminal mischief — An officer responded on Jan. 20 to a complainant in the 1300 block of North Throckmorton Street. It was reported that a suspect had broken a car window. A report for criminal mischief from $100-$750 was filed.
Burglary of a building — Officers responded on Jan. 20 to a call in reference to a hit and run in the 600 block of Northcreek Drive. While the accident was being investigated, the victim advised the officers that items had been stolen from his business in the 2100 block of South Heritage Parkway. Officers went to the residence and investigated. They determined that various items had been stolen. A report for burglary of a building was generated.
Burglary of a habitation — Officers were dispatched on Jan. 20 to the 1000 block of South Walnut Street in response to a burglary. Upon arrival, they learned a firearm had been stolen from a residence. A report for burglary of a habitation was filed.
Driving while intoxicated — A traffic stop was conducted on Jan. 20 in the 2100 block of Texoma Parkway. The driver was suspected of being intoxicated. An investigation revealed that he was intoxicated, and he was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
