Grayson County Commissioners renewed the county’s contract with Dr. Jerry D. Bennett Tuesday for his fourth two-year term as the county’s local health authority.
Grayson County Health Department Director Amanda Ortez said Bennett is board certified by the Board of Emergency Medicine and American Family Board of Medicine with a specialization in geriatrics. As the County Health Authority, Bennett oversees the treatment provided by the staff of the Grayson County Health Department.
In addition, commissioners also approved a request by both the Grayson County Democrats and the Grayson County Republicans to use the courtrooms on the second floor of the courthouse for county conventions on March 24. Grayson County Judge Bill Magers said as odd as it might sound to folks, the two groups get along really well when holding their conventions.
Commissioners also approved the solicitation of bids for the annual supply of aggregates for road work.
Grayson County Commissioner Bart Lawrence asked the court, during the commissioners’ comments section of the meeting, to remember the family of Karen Black in their prayers. He said Karen Black had died on Friday and was an asset to the community.
