Sherman Police said an argument between a married couple ended in violence Monday night when the wife stabbed her husband with a knife.

Sgt. Brett Mullen said Harley Baker, 20, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, family violence, after officers were dispatched to the couple’s residence in the 1400 block of South Crockett Street shortly before 10:30 p.m. Mullen said someone at the scene called 911 to report the stabbing.

“When they (officers) responded to the scene, they found the male victim and female suspect still on scene,” Mullen said. “The male victim had a non-life-threatening injury to his abdomen — a stab wound to his abdomen.”

Mullen said the husband, whom he did not identify, was stabbed once and transported by ambulance to an area hospital.

Baker was booked into the Grayson County, where she remained Tuesday morning. A search of the jail’s records yielded no bond information. It was unclear whether an attorney had been appointed to represent Baker.
