Denison Fire Rescue officials said no one was injured Sunday morning after a storage building near Lake Texoma caught fire.

Capt. Matthew Kelley said at approximately 7:15 a.m., crews responded to a call of a structure fire at a residence in the 100 block of Hill Drive, near Camp Rocky Point. Kelley said when crews arrived they found what he described as a freestanding, 600-square-foot building used to store shop equipment.

“It was pretty much fully involved,” Kelley said.

The Denison Fire Rescue captain said the property owner was not home when the fire broke out. Multiple agencies responded to the fire, including Pottsboro, Preston and Locust, but the building was ultimately destroyed in the blaze.

Kelley said cause of the fire remains under investigation.

“We don't really know the cause or how it started,” Kelley said. “So, it's hard to say whether it was preventable or not.”
