More than 15 months after announcing plans to eventually open a brewhouse in the former Lee School building, 903 Brewers will appear before the Sherman Planning & Zoning Commission this week to seek a specific use permit and site plan approval for the work. The commission will meet Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the council chambers of City Hall, 220 W. Mulberry St.
The plan to be presented to the commission calls for the construction of a one-story metal brewery and grain silo next to it. The existing three-story building will be renovated for retail and an event center.
Heritage Development Partners LLC is seeking site plan approval for a new medical office building in the Sherman Crossroads development on the northwest corner of U.S. Highway 75 and FM 1417. The planned 41,056-square-foot, two-story office building would be built to the north of the free-standing emergency department and Davita Medical Office Building currently being built at the development.
The commission will also elect a new vice chairman to serve in the place of Chairman Clay Mahone, should he be absent from a meeting.
A zoning change and site plan approval is being sought for a commercial strip center at 5215 Knollwood Road, which is behind the Northside on Travis Street Apartments. Owner Jud Corp LLC is seeking permission to build a 2,900-square-foot retail/office building.
The commission will also consider a zoning change and site plan approval for the property at 1305 South FM 1417. A site plan was approved for an apartment complex at the location last month and the requested action would be an amendment to a zone change from 2002.
