Sherman Police


Theft of property — An officer was dispatched on Nov. 2 to the 300 block of North Carl Street in reference to a theft. It was reported that two suspects stole property from a female victim while they were inside her residence. A report was taken and the case is under investigation.


Criminal mischief — Dispatch received a call on Nov. 1 in reference to a theft in the 1400 block of West Crescent Street. Officers were sent to the location and they determined no theft had occurred, but property was damaged. A report for criminal mischief was filed.


Public intoxication — Officers observed two males on Nov. 1 who were in the roadway near the intersection of East Lamar and Montgomery Streets. The two suspects were arrested for public intoxication, and a report was generated.


Possession — An officer conducted a traffic stop on Nov. 1 in the 200 block of South Willow Street. The officer spoke with all occupants in the vehicle and later discovered there was marijuana inside the vehicle. A report was filed for possession of marijuana.


Theft of property — An officer was dispatched on Nov. 1 to the 700 block of South Burdette Street in response to a possible disturbance. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with all parties involved and discovered an assault and theft had occurred. A report for assault causing bodily injury was filed along with a report for theft of property from $100-$750.


Theft of property — A report for theft of property in the 2200 block of North Heritage Parkway was filed on May 26 in response to a theft that occurred at that location. Since then, leads have been developed and a subsequent report was filed Nov. 2 for theft of property from $750-$2,500 with two or more previous convictions.


Driving while license invalid — Officers stopped a car on Nov. 2 in the 500 block of Elm Street for taillights not working. The male driver did not have a valid driver’s license and was the subject of a Grayson County warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested for driving while license invalid and the warrant.


Theft of property — Officers were dispatched on Nov. 2 to the 1800 block of Loy Lake Road in reference to a theft. The victim reported having left $65 at the checkout machine and that the money was stolen. A report for theft of property less than $100 was generated, and the investigation is ongoing.


Credit card abuse — Dispatch received a complaint on Nov. 2 at police headquarters for unauthorized purchases made on a credit/debit card at a business in the 600 block Graham Drive. A report for credit/debit card abuse was filed.


Public intoxication — Officers were dispatched on Nov. 2 in response to a possible intoxicated person in the 300 block of U.S. Highway 82. Upon arrival, officers found a male suspect intoxicated to the point of being a danger to himself. He was arrested for public intoxication. A report for public intoxication was generated.


Striking unattended vehicle — Officers responded on Nov. 2 to the 400 block of Rusk Street in response to a possible hit and run. They discovered that a vehicle had struck a parked car and left the scene of the crash. No injuries were sustained, and a report for duty on striking an unattended vehicle was submitted.


Driving while license invalid — Officers initiated a traffic stop on Nov. 3 in the 1900 block of West Pecan Street. They discovered that the driver had a suspended license with previous convictions of driving while license invalid. The driver was arrested for driving while license invalid with previous convictions/suspensions and being without financial responsibility.


Theft of property — An officer was dispatched on Nov. 3 to the 1500 block of East Mulberry in reference to a theft. It was reported that a bicycle had been stolen from the victim’s yard. A report for theft of property less than $100 was generated.


Criminal mischief — An officer was dispatched on Nov. 3 to the 3000 block of North U.S. Highway 75 in response to a report of criminal mischief. His investigation revealed that the northwest window of a structure had been shattered from impact. A report for criminal mischief filed.


Accident involving injury — A citizen reported on Nov. 3 having been struck by a vehicle in the 100 block of West McLain Drive. An investigation into the collision was conducted. A crash report and a report for accident involving injury was generated.


Found property — An officer was dispatched on Nov. 3 to the 1400 block of South Elm Street in reference to found property. Upon investigation, the found property was located in a yard in the 1400 block of South Crockett Street. The officer was unable to locate the owner and the property was collected for safe keeping. A report was taken.


Criminal trespass — Officers responded on Nov. 3 to a disturbance in the 700 block of Holiday Drive. Upon arrival, they determined that a criminal trespass had occurred. A report for criminal trespass was generated.
