A male Austin College student is dead after a one-vehicle wreck in the 2800 block of East Tuck Street in Sherman on Friday evening. There were three male students in the vehicle, but only one was fatally injured, police said.
Sherman Police Sgt. DM Hampton said the vehicle was traveling east on Tuck Street when the driver failed to follow the curve of the street as the road turned into Skaggs. The vehicle then struck a tree.
Hampton also said when police arrived on the scene the front passenger was unconscious. He was taken to Wilson N. Jones Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The driver and back seat passenger did not have life-threatening injuries.
The Critical Accident Investigation Team responded and took over the investigation, Hampton said. The cause of the wreck has not been determined.
