Campaign finance reports filed with the city last month by Sherman City Council candidates show the District 2 candidates have raised close to the same amounts of money.

Just two of the five candidates that will appear on the Nov. 7 ballot filed reports with the city on Oct. 10 and Oct. 30. District 2 candidates Commie O. Linson and Josh Stevenson filed the reports, while Place 1 candidates Willie Steele and Ronald Rose did not and Daron Holland, who is running unopposed for the District 4 seat, isn’t required to turn in a report. District Clerk Linda Ashby said Rose filed for modified reporting, so he’s only required to turn in a report if he collects or spends more than $500.
